Jeff Calvin brings deep operations, project management and leadership experience to his role as vice president of operations for Cupertino Electric’s utility projects. An industry expert with more than a decade of experience working for some of the largest construction companies in the United States, Jeff has overseen financial and project operations on electrical co-generation, transmission, distribution, commercial, industrial and renewable energy projects totaling more than $450 million.
Jeff’s operations expertise is vast and includes knowledge of estimating, productivity, union labor relations (IBEW, LIUNA, IUOE), material and equipment procurement, strategic technology implementation, safety performance monitoring and project controls. One of Jeff’s many strengths is his ability to consistently improve productivity, safety, quality and financial performance on each project he touches. Before joining Cupertino Electric, Jeff worked in a financial and operations management role focused on electrical distribution, transmission and underground civil projects. As a business operations manager, Jeff oversaw a team of 300 employees and supervisors on projects that generated approximately $150 million in annual revenue. Jeff led the team to become the largest supplier delivering overhead/underground electrical and civil construction projects for one of California’s largest electrical utility companies. Jeff previously held a financial controls and technology manager role, where he restructured project management standards and worked with field leaders to develop processes to increase project safety, productivity and financial performance.
