Project Summary

The DuPont Fabros Substation project was a Design/Build, ground-up substation project by Cupertino Electric (CEI) that included three 30-MVA transformers, four 3000A MV breakers, three 2000A MV breakers and two cutting-edge control houses. The 34-megawatt (MW) station was designed to serve utility power to a 300,000-square-foot data center that sits adjacent to the site. Cupertino Electric's team managed all trades associated with this project and engineered and self-performed all electrical work, including line work and station controls. The substation was a true turn-key installation. The project schedule was approximately four months from groundbreaking to completion.
