Project Details

The waterfront community of Sausalito, located in Northern California just minutes from San Francisco, understands the importance of conserving scarce natural resources. When the city built new emergency facility buildings for the police and fire departments, they looked to Cupertino Electric's Energy Alternatives Division to design and install a 23 kilowatt (kW) solar energy photovoltaic (PV) system.
The 23 kW solar energy PV system was engineered by Cupertino Electric's Energy Alternatives Division and is installed on the rooftop of one of the city’s two new emergency services buildings. The fire station with the solar PV system is located in downtown Sausalito. The solar PV system was funded by the city of Sausalito and Cupertino Electric was awarded the contract after a public works bid process determined the contractor to be the lowest responsible bidder.
