The Clovis Unified School District solar energy system spans twenty-one sites and is the largest school solar energy project engineered and constructed in California’s Central Valley. Constructed by Cupertino Electric in four phases, the 5.86 MW Clovis Unified solar energy system will save the district approximately $2.4 million annually by generating roughly 8.4 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year.

Each school in the Clovis Unified School District involved with the solar initiative features solar panels mounted on either parking lot canopies or playground shade structures.
