The project at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)'s Terminal 2 consisted of a series of upgrades to the existing utility and IT systems as well as infrastructure for a new baggage handling system. Included in this scope were the foundations and utilities for the installation of Passenger Boarding Bridges (the walkways used to travel from the terminal to the plane). The 150,000 square foot Terminal 2 Improvement Program also included upgrades to the ticket lobby, baggage screening, baggage claim area, concourse areas and upgrades of all systems that serve the terminal. The sustainable building design criteria was based on the 2010 edition of the Cal Green Code (Title 24, Part 1, with City of LA Amendments), Tier 1, which is the owner Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) standard for sustainable design.
CEI was awarded the site-specific Golden Gate Partnership Recognition from the state of California, given to companies who implement and maintain effective safety and health management systems, for the excellent safety record we maintained throughout all projects at LAX.
