One of California’s Largest, Privately-Owned Commercial Solar Installations
In July of 2008, the city of Palo Alto, a third-party financier and Cupertino Electric's Energy Alternatives Division entered into a three-way partnership to create one of the largest privately owned commercial solar energy system in California.
Cupertino Electric engineered and installed the 906 kW DC-rated solar photovoltaic (PV) system at Roche, which is capable of generating up to 1.4 million kilowatt hours of electricity each year. The energy generated by the system, when operating at peak capacity, can potentially power 172 homes in Palo Alto.
Cupertino Electric's engineering and installation expertise, Roche’s commitment to sustainable business practices and the financier’s ownership and maintenance offerings were essential to enabling Roche to host one of the largest commercial solar energy systems at the time in California.
