Project Summary:

Ranked one of the top five universities in the nation, Stanford University requires its on-campus contractors to reflect the same high standards and quality of work that the university promotes. This design/build LEED® Platinum Certified project involves 550,000 square feet of new space, including three floors and a basement, as well as a 17 kW photovoltaic (PV) demonstration lab.

The PV system is part of a demonstration lab that provides real-time monitoring of PV technology to students. The demonstration facility monitors and records the energy production from three different technologies on each array: polycrystalline PV, monocrystalline PV and Amorphous Silicon thin film.

The departments occupying the Y2E2 building include the School of Engineering, as well as the Bio-Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Phototonics, and Environment and Energy departments.
