Confidential Client Data Center

This data center project for a confidential tech client is a multi-phase, fast-paced, complete modernization effort of an existing data center in Santa Clara, Calif. Serving as both the general and electrical contractor, CEI remodeled the two-story, 322,000-square-foot building. The scope included crushing and removing raised internal floors, installation of server racking, power distribution units (PDUs), remote power panels (RPP), cable bus and four electrical rooms. CEI also removed and replaced the roof and replaced 60 rooftop units and associated equipment.

After demolition, CEI is building 24 dedicated electrical rooms that will be configured in cells and include UPS battery backup power. CEI will also run new cabling throughout the building and retrofit the 24 existing generators and four substations. The project is slated to be complete by July 2021.
