A confidential client in the defense industry hired Cupertino Electric to overhaul all of its electrical and data systems to turn a dated facility into an open-concept office space. The new, 130,000 square-foot office building in San Jose is a perfect example of a successful, open ceiling MC installation that not only looks great, but also ended up saving the customer money. These two benefits, that were pitched in tandem during the bid phase, were happily accepted by the customer to achieve its goals.
Instead of installing conduit raceways and then pulling hundreds of feet of cable through, the field team pulled MC cable at once to increase efficiency. Because the MC feeders also don't need conventional metal conduit straps and can be secured using industrial strength zip ties, the team installed continuous MC runs of roughly 600 feet at a time to save time and money. In this space, the exposed look is a perfect match to the rest of the space's industrial vibe.
