Project Summary:
The DuPont Fabros Substation is 34-Megawatt (MW) station designed to serve utility power to a 300,000 square-foot data center that sits adjacent to the site. The project is a design/build, ground-up project that includes three 30 MVA transformers, four 3000A MV breakers, three 2000A MV breakers, and two cutting-edge control houses. Cupertino Electric's team managed all trades associated with this project and engineered and self-performed all electrical work, including line work and station controls to make the substation a true turn-key installation. The project schedule was approximately four months from when ground was broken to the project’s completion.
