CEI delivered the full electrical scope for the Sutter Health Innovation Center, a 12,000-square-foot, two-story commercial office space in San Francisco. The project included complete power distribution for office areas, conference rooms and mechanical systems, along with full lighting installation and an integrated fire alarm system to support safe and efficient operations.
A key feature of the project was the “Hospital of the Future” room, a showcase space highlighting emerging medical technologies and innovative health care design. CEI supported this high-profile area with specialized lighting systems designed to accommodate adaptable layouts, advanced equipment and evolving technology needs.
Delivered on a fast-tracked five-month schedule, the project presented logistical challenges related to procurement and installation. Limited time between submittal approvals and fixture availability required strategic coordination, including the temporary use of stock fixtures from CEI’s San Francisco warehouse to maintain schedule as the temporary certificate of occupancy approached, with planned fixture replacements once specified materials arrived.
The project also required close collaboration to balance the architect’s clean, modern aesthetic with San Francisco Port restrictions that limited in-ground power solutions. CEI implemented low-profile alternatives, such as under-carpet raceway systems, to provide functional power while preserving the intended design. The Sutter Health Innovation Center was completed in November 2025.
