Hospitals and medical office buildings have strict requirements and rigorous timelines. When the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) planned the new Bakar Precision Cancer Medicine Building (PCMB), it knew Cupertino Electric (CEI) would deliver a quality project on time. Together with general contractor Rudolph & Sletten, CEI provided design/build services within a “big room,” giving the entire project team a keen structure to execute and refine its plan if challenges arose.
PCMB is a 170,000 square-foot cancer treatment facility that sits on UCSF’s Mission Bay campus. CEI installed the 3200A service connection, the electrical systems and the low voltage systems. The facility ties into the neighboring building’s 12.47 kV utility power system, which provides emergency power.
In 2020, the PCMB project received "Best Projects Award of Merit" recognition from ENR California in the Health Care category.
