Cupertino Electric Honored With Top Philanthropy Awards From Save the Bay, InnVision and San Jose Business Journal

CEI Receives Inaugural Save the Bay "Corporate Bay Steward" Award, InnVision "Spirit of InnVision" Award, and San Jose Business Journal "Corporate Philanthropist" Award

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Cupertino Electric, Inc. (CEI) ( www.cei.com ) today announced that the national engineering and construction services company was recently named one of the top 50 corporate philanthropists in the Bay Area by the Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal, a "Corporate Bay Steward" by Save the Bay, and a "Spirit of InnVision" award recipient by InnVision. At formal ceremonies over the past month, Cupertino Electric was honored among some of Silicon Valley's most influential and innovative companies with foundations and organizations dedicated to corporate social responsibility. In 2010, Cupertino Electric donated more than one percent of its annual profit and numerous volunteer hours to charitable organizations located throughout the United States.

"Since our founding more than 50 years ago, we at Cupertino Electric have always been guided by certain unwavering principles that do not fluctuate based on the economy or outside forces," said Jan Kang, vice president, general counsel and secretary for Cupertino Electric, Inc. "One of these enduring principles is our commitment to making a positive impact on the communities where our employees live and work. We are humbled by these philanthropic awards and are proud to stand alongside some of the industry's most respected companies that are also focused on eradicating hunger, providing shelter and restoring our environment."

About the AwardsCelebrating 50 years as a non-profit organization, Save the Bay ( www.savesfbay.org ) hosted a formal gala November 3, 2011 at the Metreon in San Francisco Calif. where Cupertino Electric was honored with the "Corporate Steward" award. Cupertino Electric's "Corporate Steward" status is the result of the company's innovative culture, long-standing tradition of generosity and recent assistance with constructing a new greenhouse to give Save the Bay better climate control, more space and a longer growing season for native plants.

Having completed a recent remodel of InnVision's San Jose Donation Depot to provide clients with a more comfortable shopping experience, Cupertino Electric was awarded the "Spirit of InnVision Award" in late October 2011. With 20 sites in Silicon Valley, InnVision ( www.innvision.org ) has provided housing and services for homeless families and individuals since 1973 and today serves more than 1,400 clients a day.

The Silicon Valley / San Jose Business Journal's 2011 Corporate Philanthropy Award rankings are based on companies' total cash donations to local non-profit organizations in 2010. Employing approximately 350 office people and 850 field people, Cupertino Electric was the only electrical contractor to make the 50-company list alongside leading companies such as Cisco Systems, Google, Bank of America, AT&T and Intel.
