Cupertino Electric Recognized for Philanthropic and Industry Impact

Firm Honored with Food Bank Awards, Ranked a Top National Electrical Contractor

SAN JOSE, Calif.--October 6, 2014--Engineering and construction leader Cupertino Electric today announced that it was honored with two Second Harvest Food Bank awards for philanthropy and was ranked the sixth-largest electrical contractor in the nation in 2014 by EC&M Magazine. These recent awards underscore Cupertino Electric's commitment to delivering business excellence and making a positive impact at the local and national level.

About the Second Harvest Award

On September 10, 2014, Second Harvest Food Bank recognized Cupertino Electric during its annual "Make Hunger History" ceremony as a "Blue Diamond" donor and "Corporate Champion." The electrical contractor also received the Bumper Crop award for increasing its food and monetary donations 35 percent from the prior year.

As a long-time supporter of Second Harvest, Cupertino Electric employees regularly volunteer with the non-profit organization. "Second Harvest depends on companies like Cupertino Electric to help us ensure that anyone who needs a meal can get one," said Kathy Jackson, CEO of Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. "Cupertino Electric really ramped up its Holiday Food and Fund Drive last year, which helped Second Harvest feed hungry people all year long."

"Cupertino Electric employees are extremely passionate about giving back to organizations like Second Harvest, which has a laser-like focus on eradicating hunger," said John Boncher, CEO and president of Cupertino Electric, Inc. "Each year, our people bring the same high level of commitment and passion to our community fundraising efforts that they bring to our construction projects. This is truly an employee-driven effort that I am proud to be involved with and to see celebrated by our friends at Second Harvest."

About EC&M National Ranking

In the September issue of EC&M Magazine, Cupertino Electric was ranked the sixth-largest electrical contractor in the nation, with a 22 percent increase in revenue from the prior year. Since 2010 when Cupertino Electric first participated in the list, the company's rank has steadily climbed up the list as the size and complexity of the company's projects have increased.
