Cupertino Electric Wins Constructech "Vision Award" for Innovative Technology Application

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Construction and engineering company Cupertino Electric, Inc. today announced that it has been awarded a 2013 Constructech "Vision Award" in the Commercial Specialty Contractor category. With more than 800 megawatts (mw) of solar projects under contract to date and data center projects underway with some of the world's largest Internet companies, Cupertino Electric continues to lead the electrical industry with technology investments that are driving market and geographic growth.

"Because Cupertino Electric was born and raised in Silicon Valley, we are fortunate to have innovation in our veins," said Bill Diekmann, director of information technology for Cupertino Electric. "For nearly 60 years, we have always pioneered first-of-their-kind electrical systems and we take that same creative approach with our use of technology. With our projects spanning from one side of the United States to the other, the need for us to be creative about how to quickly and effectively connect our workforce is critical."

About the Constructech Vision Award

Chosen by Constructech magazine, the Vision Award recognizes companies who are using innovative ways to cut costs and solve business problems through the use of technology. Vision Award recipients are judged on how effectively technology is used to increase competitiveness or create a better workplace for employees.

Cupertino Electric was honored with a Vision Award for its innovative use of document management and workflow to improve invoice processing and lien release management. Cupertino Electric uses PENTA construction ERP software for construction document management and workflow functionality. PENTA software creator, Penta Technologies, was also recognized at the Constructech awards ceremony alongside Cupertino Electric as a Technology Enabler.

"Cupertino Electric is at the forefront of how growth-oriented construction firms adopt and apply technology," stated Karl Koenig, Penta Technologies' President and CEO.
